This fine art Arctic print captures the delicate mystery of a lunar halo. The original painting, from which this print was made, was part of a series in which I explored the mesmerizing qualities of Arctic light and the way it interacts with ice and snow. Many of these works were inspired by the remarkable variety of optical phenomena that occur in Arctic skies—solar and lunar rings, halos, coronas, and fog-bows, cloud-bows, and rainbows that arc across the horizon.

Lunar halos occur when moonlight refracts through ice crystals in the atmosphere, creating a subtle, ethereal ring around the moon. The original painting now hangs in my living room, and daily I find myself drawn into its serene, quiet beauty—immersed in a world that feels untouched by time or humanity.
