Drawn by the shifting weather, rich light, and quiet sense of remoteness, over the years I have made many visits to Scottish islands. My most recent visits were to Holy Isle off the coast of Arran. This painting is a response to one of those rare, hushed moments when the land, sky, and sea seem to hold their breath, and the beauty of the scene feels like a deeper meeting—something just beyond words.
