Burning in the Night – Abstract Landscape Painting on Sandpaper

This original painting captures the power and wonder of fire, evoking elemental energy surging into the night sky. Creating this fire series was deeply energizing, unlocking a new fierceness within me. The physical process was exhilarating too—working quickly (as fire demands), flooding the sandpaper with colour and washing it off repeatedly. The grainy texture of the sandpaper diffused the paint, amplifying the raw intensity of the blaze. Despite the fierceness of the painting process, the final piece holds a quiet awe, connecting me to the silent majesty of fire at night.
