Dawn, Ilulissat: Fine art Arctic landscape print on paper

The first light of dawn washes over the Ilulissat Icefjord in this fine art Arctic landscape print, capturing the hushed beauty of Greenland’s frozen world. The original painting was one of around thirty created after my return from Greenland and Baffin Island—an attempt to hold onto some of the most moving moments from that voyage.

In Dawn, Ilulissat, I wanted to capture the way icebergs hold the gathering light. It was a profoundly moving scene, and even now, looking at this small painting, I can still feel the extraordinary stillness of that morning and the awe it inspired.
