Love and Fire – Abstract Landscape Painting on Sandpaper

This semi-abstract original painting evokes the fire of love. As William Blake said, “We are here but a little while to learn to bear the beams of love.” In recent years, I’ve become more aware of a powerful inner energy burning within me. Sometimes it feels like a quiet candle flame; other times, like something much more powerful and dynamic. This painting captures the latter—a surge of pink-red flame flaring against the darkness, with swirling embers dancing in the air. The vibrant colours ignite against deep shadows, capturing the drama and emotion of love's fierceness. Painted on sandpaper, the grainy surface brings depth to both the flame and the darkness that holds it, creating a dynamic texture that mirrors the intensity of both fire and love.
