The Fire Inside – Abstract Landscape Painting on Sandpaper

This small original painting evokes the fierce power of fire and mirrors the steady flame that burns deep within us all. After spending two years painting ice, I felt a strong urge to experiment with fire—a subject that called for a completely different, more fluid approach. Using sandpaper as a substrate worked wonderfully, with the grainy texture enhancing the tactile sense of heat and flame. The realization that the fire also represented an inner flame came only when I gave it the title.
