Twenty years ago, this painting explored something that continues to quietly insist on its presence: the threshold between what we can name and what we can only sense. The Flowering Sun holds a particular quality of light – just before sunset - that suspended moment when the sun seems to belong both to the sky and to something beyond it.

It has a beautiful sense of presence and gently suggests the way light can carry weight, stillness can contain movement, and how a landscape might suggest something immaterial pressing against the surface of the visible world.
