The Gathering Light – Arctic Landscape Print

A flotilla of drifting icebergs glowing in the half-light against the inky blue coast. This Arctic landscape print captures the moment our ship arrived at dawn at Ilulissat Icefjord in Western Greenland.

In September 2018, I spent a day kayaking amidst the ice-choked waters of this fjord, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle; a UNESCO World Heritage site, fed by the fast-moving Jacobshavn Glacier. The silence was profound.

This painting was made soon after my return, holding that memory of dawn light gathering over the ice.

Printed using archival pigment inks on fine art paper.
